As Chief Technology Officer and Vice President, Engineering, Damon drives innovation at IntriMed and is a hands-on member of product development teams. He focuses on designing components and their manufacturing processes concurrently to create production efficiencies well before production actually begins, a design philosophy that has led to his 17 pending and granted U.S. product and process patents.
As Director of Materials, LaunchPoint Technologies, Damon worked with structural nanomaterials to support biomedical device development. His work as Chief Science and Technology Officer at Interface Sciences Corporation included surface modification of nanostructured particles and reinforcements, functionalized coatings for composites and biomedical applications, and novel supercritical fluid techniques to facilitate molecular self-assembly on a variety of substrates.
Damon holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and a BSE in both Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan. He has authored six publications on the subject of composites and interfaces.
