Senior Vice President, Operations and Manufacturing

Andrew Lux,PhDDriven by the notion that “good enough isn’t”, Andy leads continuous improvement and compliance initiatives at IntriMed to positively impact all phases of design and manufacturing. He has deep technical expertise in process control, design for manufacturability and material science-based products and platforms, along with an established track record of innovation as evidenced by 8 product and process patents.

Before joining IntriMed, Andy led a team of 500 employees and oversaw manufacturing for a vast portfolio of orthopedic implants and devices as General Manager, Spinal Division, Medtronic Corporation. As Vice President, Operations and Research and Development, Medtronic Cardiac Surgery Division, he had responsibility for global operations and R&D for all blood management systems including blood oxygenators and circulation pumps, artificial heart valves and minimally invasive cardiac surgical tools.

Earlier roles include Vice President, Global Manufacturing Operations, Baxter Healthcare Inc.; and Vice President, Operations, Johnson & Johnson’s Advanced Sterilization Products.

Andy holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, and earned his Doctor of Science degree in Material Science and Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He did his undergraduate work at Cleveland State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering.
