Prototyping

Design Concepts Brought to Life

This is where things get even more exciting. As the next step in transforming design concepts into realized products, IntriMed delivers prototypes for real-world product testing in 3-4 weeks using our state-of-the-industry forming operations combined with a full suite of secondary processing capabilities.

Customer Engagement

The first part of the prototyping process is the most important - engagement with the customer. Following an initial call and discussion of scope, our technical team will engage and understand the design space based on the system-level functional requirements. Commercial considerations including volume and price targets are also factored in at

Strategy Development

Based on customer functional requirements, a solution strategy is developed that is based on stage-gate methodology to minimize risk. Various manufacturing options are explored to ensure that prototyping processes are scalable for ultimate volume requirements. These factors are synthesized into an overall prototype plan and engagement plan that meet customer budgetary and technical needs.

Delivery & Validation

A clear understanding of constraints and resulting strategy provide a clear path for prototype manufacture and more detailed design analysis. Key functional requirments and risk factors are addressed. Testing and validation work at IntriMed Laboratory and the customer ensure that the manufacturing approach satisfies all project objectives and demonstrates volume viability.

This rigorous prototype process provides the basis for a smooth transition into volume production supports more extensive product and process validation during this transition.
